Lockheed Martin
Pam, though a relative newcomer to Ithaca, was born and raised approximately an hour drive south of the city. After living in various locales on the East Coast for the past eight years, she returned to the area in January 2006 to take a position as a Contracts Negotiator for Lockheed Martin Corporation in Owego, New York. Pam attended the Pennsylvania State University and graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Economics. After college, she accepted a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, where she served as a Logistics Officer for four years. She completed her active duty service as a Captain in the Marine Corps in November 2002, after which, she moved from her duty station in North Carolina to the Baltimore/Washington, D.C. area. There, Pam worked as an economist/industry analyst for the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics from 2003 to 2005. Pam’s understanding of the importance of community involvement led her to seek out opportunities in all areas where she resided. While in North Carolina, she was an active member of the Wilmington Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce). Then, in Baltimore, she served as a board member in the local chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association. In D.C. she was very involved with the local Polish American community – she was a member of the Polish American Arts Association, the Polish Library in Washington, and took part in the 2005 American Center for Polish Culture’s Youth Leadership Conference. She also participated in various functions sponsored by the D.C. Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association. Recently, Pam was appointed as the Vice President of Membership for Ithaca Forward. She recognizes that there is a relatively moderate-sized demographic of “young professionals” in Ithaca, and it has hardly been tapped into. She therefore has committed herself to reaching out to this group to draw attention to Ithaca Forward and its impact on both individuals and the community. In her spare time, Pam dedicates herself to spending time with her family, working on “house beautification” projects, traveling, jogging, swimming, playing volleyball, playing ultimate frisbee, mountain biking, reading, and working on stained glass projects. |
