TC Convention/Visitor’s Bureau Jodie has been employed by the Tompkins County Convention & Visitors Bureau (a division of the Chamber of Commerce) for over 9 years. Beginning as an intern, she has worked her way up to her current position of Visitors Center Manager. Her primary responsibility is the staffing, look & feel of Ithaca’s two visitor centers with an emphasis on a visitor’s experience to the area. Jodie is a graduate of TC3’s Travel & Tourism program. She is also an alumnus of Leadership Tompkins where she spent many months working on the DiscIthaca Community Action Project Team that worked to raise awareness of Disc Golf in the community & held a fund-raising tournament for One to One Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Tompkins County. With the help from this project team, a Disc Golf club was formed & Tompkins County’s first permanent disc golf course was installed this year. She serves as the VP of Personal Development on [ithaca Forward]’s Council of Directors and has been with this organization since its infancy. She whole-heartedly believes in [iF]’s mission to bring young professionals together to network, volunteer, learn & socialize. In addition to her full-time position with the CVB & her volunteer work with [iF], she also runs her own Pampered Chef business. In her free time, she enjoys visiting the local wineries, spending time with her large extended family, hiking in the local gorges, and playing volleyball & golf. |
